Numbness in the hands can lead to handicaps, if left untreated
Carpal tunnel syndrome is a painful progressive disorder of the wrist, hand and forearm. If left untreated it can lead to permanent dysfunction of hand, including loss of sensation in fingers.
What is Carpal tunnel syndrome?
The median nerve is one of the main nerves in hand located on palm side in the carpal tunnel. Median nerve provides sensation and movement to thumb, index, middle and ring fingers. Carpal tunnel syndrome occurs when the tunnel is narrowed due to swelling. This compresses the median nerve resulting in the following symptoms:
- Excruciating pain and numbness
- Loss of grip strength
- Burning and tingling sensation
- Weakness in hand and forearm
Risk factors
- Repetitive movements and pressure on wrist
- Trauma or fracture of wrist
- Health issues like diabetes, thyroid disorders, kidney failure, rheumatism, hypertension
At our `Monisha’s Mantra`, we have helped many individuals to treat their carpal tunnel syndrome without any Medicine and without Surgery in following manner:
- Anti-inflammatory diet is very important to reduce inflammation and so avoid refined sugars, sodas, white flour breads, fried foods, beef, pork, argarine, salty foods and reduce intake of alcohol and tobacco
- Regularly drink green tea with pinch of turmeric and pepper
- Regularly do simple hand and wrist exercises
- Sujok Therapy:
- Twist clockwise-anticlockwise the distal joint of index fingers corresponding to the wrist for a minute, 4 times daily (as shown in Pic 1)
- Daily apply at night a line of buckwheat seeds (kuttu) on the activated distal joints (as shown in Pic 2)
