Kidney Diseases

As you love everyone, you should love your Kidney too. Protect Kidney Today, or regret Tomorrow

Kidney disease is recognized as a major health challenge globally. Worldwide 1 in 10 people are affected by serious kidney diseases.

What happens when kidneys fail?

Our kidneys are fist-sized organs located on either side of lumbar spine. Kidneys perform important functions like filtering toxins from blood, prevent build-up of wastes and extra fluid in body, balance salts and minerals in blood like calcium, phosphorus, sodium and potassium. Kidneys produce important hormones which help make red blood cells, control blood pressure and keep bones strong.

When kidneys fail, they lose their capability to function efficiently and gradually toxins accumulate in body leading to life-threatening situation.

Thyroid is a small butterfly-shaped endocrine gland situated in front of our neck. It produces 2 primary hormones Thyroxine (T4) and Triiodothyronine (T3), that control metabolic processes of body like Heart Rate, Breathing, Nervous system, Weight and Body Temperature. Hyperthyroidism occurs when Thyroid gland produces more hormones than our body needs.

Symptoms

Knee Joint Pain

Why Knee Pain increases in Winter?

Are you suffering from stiffness and knee joint pain in winters? You are not alone, it is very common for many people to have knee pain in cold weather.

Causes

Barometric pressure is air pressure surrounding us which drops during winters causing fluids and gases in knee joints to expand. This increases pressure on surrounding nerves causing pain

  • Synovial fluid in joints which serves for lubrication and as shock absorber, thickens when temperature drops. This makes knee joints stiffer and painful
  • Low physical activity in winters tightens the muscles reducing their flexibility and increasing stiffness
  • Less sunlight in winters reduces vitamin D in body, which is important for bone health

At our `Monisha’s Mantra`, we treat and help people to get rid of their knee pain in the following manner, without Medicine and without any Side-effect.

  • Regularly do warm up and stretching exercises and be physically active to boost blood circulation to loosen and relax muscles and joints
  • Maintain healthy weight which helps to take pressure off knee joints
  • Increase intake of anti-inflammatory foods and herbs like ginger, turmeric, basil, green tea
  • Avoid fried, processed foods, trans fats, aerated beverages
  • Drink 10-12 glasses of water
  • Sujok Therapy:
    1. Acupressure – Massage both middle fingers’ joints which correspond to knees with Sujok ring or twist clockwise-anticlockwise for a minute, 4 times daily (as shown in Pic 1)

Ankle Osteoarthritis

If there is unnecessary pain in the feet, then do not take normal

Ankle osteoarthritis is a chronic degenerative joint condition that along with pain disturbs our balance and stability of the body and thus overall quality of life.

What happens in ankle osteoarthritis?

Our ankle is basically a stable joint made up of 3 bones which are covered by a protective layer of cartilage, which allows free movement amongst the 3 bones. Over a period of time or any trauma to the ankle joint can gradually wear away the cartilage making the bones rub against each other causing pain, stiffness,
inflammation and loss of function.

Symptoms

  • Stiffness with pain that is worse in mornings
  • Inflammation on one side or all around the joint
  • Difficulty in walking

Causes

  • Ankle injury
  • Being overweight
  • Repeated stress on ankles
  • Age
  • Misaligned ankle joint

At our `Monisha’s Mantra`, we have helped patients to treat their Ankle Osteoarthritis problem, without Medicine, without Surgery and withiout any Side-effect; in the following manner:

  • Avoid junk, processed, outside foods and aerated drinks. Anti-inflammatory diet plays an important role for treating osteoarthritis
  • Reduce weight because being overweight puts repeated stress on ankle joint
  • Regular light stretching exercises for ankle joints
  • Sujok Therapy:
    1. Acupressure – Move with slight pressure Sujok ring on the distal joint of middle fingers, which corresponds to ankle joint for 25-30 times. Do it for 4 times daily (as shown in Pic 1)
    2. Seed Therapy – Daily at night apply a line of buckwheat (kuttu) seeds with micropore tape on stimulated distal joint of middle fingers (as shown in Pic 2)

Are you suffering from lower back pain radiating up to the legs? Then it can be sciatica which is one of the common forms of Lumbar Radiculopathy.

What is lumbar radiculopathy?

Lumbar radiculopathy is a painful nerve condition caused by compression, inflammation or injury to spinal nerve roots in the lower back region. If the nerve roots of sciatica nerve are compressed then the radicular pain can radiate to the thigh, calf or foot directly along the course of the sciatica spinal nerve.

Pinched Nerve in Neck (Cervical Radiculopathy)

Do not ignore neck pain, it should be treated as soon as possible, otherwise there may be serious problems

Cervical radiculopathy commonly known as pinched nerve is a painful condition in which there is damage to nerve roots in the neck area (cervical spine). This results in compression and inflammation of the nerve roots thus affecting nerves attached to it. These cervical nerves are attached to shoulders, arms, hands, upper back and chest area.

Symptoms

Axial Spondyloarthritis (axSpA)

The longer you have axSpA condition, the more the risk of increaing Fracture of Bones

Axial spondyloarthritis (axSpA) is a progressive form of inflammatory arthritis, where the main symptom is back pain. There is pain and swelling in spine and joints that connect the bottom of spine to pelvis (sacroiliac joint). Being a systemic disease, it can also affect other joints, tendons, ligaments and different parts of body.

If not treated on time bones and joints of spine start fusing from base of spine causing acute pain, stiffness and difficulty in movement.

The disease can occur at any age, but typically begins between ages 20 and 40.

Types

  • Radiographic (Ankylosing Spondylitis) – Bone damage is seen in X-rays
  • Non-Radiographic (nr-axSpA) – Bone damage is not seen in X-rays in spite of symptoms

Symptoms

  • Pain and swelling in lower back, buttocks and hips
  • Morning stiffness
  • Weakness
