Acne – During Monsoon

Having Acne at any age is pretty traumatizing

During monsoons the high levels of humidity can lead to many skin problems, especially the acne breakouts.

Why do we have monsoon Acne?

Excess humidity in monsoons increases the skin’s natural oil production, sebum. There is increase in dandruff and sweating which can trap bacteria or dirt in the upper layer of skin. Our skin has pores which get clogged due to excess oil, dust, dirt, bacteria, dandruff leading to acne breakouts.

At our `Monisha’s Mantra`, we have helped many individuals to get back their healthy glowing skin in the following natural ways, without using and
Medicine or Cream.

  • The best treatment is drinking more water which helps in keeping our skin hydrated and healthy and also helps in getting rid of constipation. Drink 12-15 glasses of boiled water daily
  • Check the diet because eating fried, spicy, packaged foods, refined sugar, dairy can trigger acne. Include more of seasonal fruits, salads, vegetable soups, seeds, herbs in daily diet
  • Regularly steaming with few neem leaves helps in opening up the clogged pores, removes dead skin and increases blood circulation
  • Discipline sleeping habits.
  • Sujok Therapy:
    1. Colour Therapy – With blue or black pen apply 2 big dots above the thumb nail. This area corresponds to face (as shown in Pic 1)
    2. Seed Therapy – To get rid of constipation apply daily at night 2 dried green peas (green vatana), 1 finger breath apart on either side of palm, in-between middle and ring finger (as shown in Pic 2)

Eye flu (Conjuctivitis)

During Eye Flu, mistake done, can cause loss of light of the eyes

Eye flu commonly known as conjunctivitis, is the most common type of eye infection especially during the rainy season. Eye flu is an infection of the conjunctiva which is the thin transparent layer covering the white part of eye and lining of the inner surface of eyelids. It is mainly caused by virus or bacteria and is highly contagious that can easily spread by touch.

Symptoms

  • Redness, pain, irritation in eyes
  • Thick sticky discharge especially on waking up in the morning
  • Watery eyes
  • Sensitivity to light
  • Blurry vision
  • Sandy sensation in eyes
  • Swelling of eyelids

At our `Monisha’s Mantra`, we helped many individuals to prevent and Treat their eye flu problem without Medicine and without any Side-effect; in the  following manner:

  • Hygiene is most important especially washing hands frequently and avoid touching eyes with unwashed hands. Avoid sharing towels and personal items
  • Avoid eating outside food, juices and eat balanced diet
  • Follow a disciplined sleep pattern
  • Before sleeping place green tea bags on your eyes which are soaked in cold or warm water. Green tea has antioxidant and anti-microbial properties
  • Sujok Therapy:
    1. Colour Therapy – Find painful, tender corresponding points of eyes on the inner, upper part of thumb with diagnostic probe, pen, pencil. Massage gently clockwise-anticlockwise and then apply black colour for infection during the day (as shown in Pic.1)
    2. Seed Therapy – At night, apply whole green moong seeds on the stimulated corresponding eye points (as shown in Pic 2)

Upper Respiratory Tract Infection (Common cold)

A Common Cold, possible complication is a Sinus Infection with a prolonged Cough

The risk of common cold is much higher in the rainy season. And children are most vulnerable. Common cold is a contagious viral infection of the upper respiratory tract affecting nose, throat, sinuses and trachea (wind pipe). There are more than 200 types of viruses but rhinovirus causes up to 50% of common colds.

Why common cold is common amongst children?

  • Immune system is in developing stage
  • Children are in close contact with other children in classrooms and while playing. Colds can spread through coughs and sneezes

Symptoms of common cold

  • Sneezing
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Watery eyes
  • Cough
  • Body aches
  • Swollen glands
  • Fever
  • Weakness
  • Loss of appetite

  • The best prevention treatment for common cold is to be build immunity in children with healthy diet. Avoid eating outside foods, packaged and  processed foods, cold drinks. Daily include in diet fruits, salads, soups, nuts, seeds, sprouts, herbs
  • Avoid contact of child with sick person
  • Maintain good hygiene
  • Keep children hydrated

    1. Regularly apply ginger juice on the palm up to the upper part of thumb before sleeping. This area corresponds to respiratory tract (as shown in Pic 1)
    2. Apply carrom seeds (ajwain) plaster around big toe daily at night (as shown in Pic 2)
